After studying American literature and cinema in Paris, Mathias Walter soon became a fashion photographer. In the meantime he also practiced as a director of photography, thinking it was very close to still photography. In 2004, he decided to create his own magazine, which he called the printfolio. Then in 2008, as he wanted to get closer to « true photography », he decided to tell the story « behind the curtain » of some young models he could see in castings. He started documentary photography with a project called Cinderella’s dream and became a Rapho correspondent. The same year, he wrote and directed a 35mm film called Fatale, and now works as a freelance photographer and a film director in various countries.
